What improvements have been made to the Slypod Pro compared to the Slypod?
The new generation of MOZA product Slypod Pro is an upgraded product of Slypod, with four main improvements.
1. Longer travel and faster speed
Compared with Slypod, Slypod Pro uses double carbon tube telescopic structure, which increases the telescopic stroke from 280mm to 520mm, and has a larger adjustable range when it is used as an auxiliary shooting mobile lens.
The maximum length of the fuselage can reach 1380mm, which makes it easier to adjust the height when used as a monopod. The maximum speed is increased to 40mm/s, which can adjust the machine state faster and put into shooting work as soon as possible.
2. The Gimbal is more flexible and the adjustment is smoother.
The pitch structure of the Slypod Gimbal is locked in a serrated manner. Although it can be locked very firmly, the pitch angle can not be adjusted accurately, and the smooth pitch moving lens can not be shot with this Gimbal.
In order to shoot such a shot, the only way is to transfer the third party's Gimbal through the adapter.
Slypod Pro uses a damping structure head, which can lock the head very firmly after tightening the screws. This allows a more precise adjustment of the pitch angle.
You can also unscrew the original Gimbal and replace it with a third-party gimbal. Of course, unless there is a special need, the Gimbal of Slypod Pro itself is actually enough and very useful.

4. There are more ways to connect the tripod
Slypod Pro is equipped with expansion screw mounting base at the top and bottom, and small partners can use the top screw mounting base to screw on the tripod according to their actual needs.
The two screw bases can also be installed on the tripod and the magic arm respectively, so that the magic arm, the magic wand and the tripod form a triangular structure together, so that the stability of the whole device is greatly improved.
Moreover, the periphery of the screw hole base at the two positions is in the shape of a general quick-mounting plate of an Aka standard dovetail groove, and if the tripod head used is the Aka standard dovetail groove, the Slypod Pro can be directly installed on the tripod head without installing a quick-mounting plate.

What kind of picture effect can MOZA achieve and what kind of scene is it suitable for?
A magic wand can be defined in one sentence, that is, "a remote-controlled telescopic monopod". Around this definition, we can easily associate the picture effect it can achieve and the shooting scene it applies to.
Application Scenario 1: Monopod for Individual Combat
In some shooting scenes, the "guerrilla tactics" shooting method of "shooting a gun to change a place" with a monopod can often shoot more pictures with various compositions and rich angles than the fixed camera shooting method with a tripod. And then achieve the two goals of "shooting" and "shooting steadily".
Of course, if the monopod can also be controlled to achieve electric expansion and contraction, it can achieve the third goal. In contrast, the Slypod Pro has a much larger stand and a much larger support area, so it can stand more steadily when used as a monopod. The equipment it carries is also more secure.
Application scenario 2: Electronically controlled slide rail
MOZA can be used not only vertically, but also horizontally. Slypod and Slypod Pro bodies have screw holes at the top of one of them in the middle, which can install quarter screws and three-eighths screws, which means that we can install them directly on the tripod without gimbal, so the wand is horizontal.
At this time, you can push the camera to move left and right or push and pull away through the extension of the wand, which is equivalent to a slide rail, which is a very high usage rate of auxiliary equipment in product shooting. It can not only show the position of the specific details of the product by pushing and pulling away, but also unfold the lines on the surface of the product slowly by moving left and right.
Slypod has a short stroke, a soft body, and only the middle part has a screw hole, so when shooting with Slypod, the more you push forward, the more the machine will fall down, and the final picture is equivalent to the picture taken by the machine along the arc.
The Slypod Pro version has a stiffer body, longer travel and two screw holes in the middle and top to hold it more firmly on the tripod, so that when the wand is extended, the camera is less likely to fall down, and the machine can run along a straighter path to get a higher quality picture.
MOZA's feature of remote control of telescopic length is that it has the function of electronic control slide rail. With stabilizer, it can also shoot the effect of fixed-point surrounding pictures. It is an excellent tool for small teams and studios to shoot images.
Application scenario 3: mobile time-lapse photography
Moving delay will have a more shocking visual effect than fixed camera delay, and will be more complex in the way of implementation, especially when shooting the slow shutter moving delay of the headlight pulling out the silk line at night, it is necessary to fix the camera and expose the slow shutter. The process of exposure should not allow the camera to shake or slide, otherwise the material that has been shot for a long time is likely to be invalid.

Why is it better to use a wand than a slide when shooting a push-pull effect?
The camera installation position of the slide rail is in the middle. Install the camera in the middle and let it slide back and forth to get the moving picture. In order to get a longer stroke, you need to push the camera to both ends, so that the whole slide will be in front of the lens. At this time, if the focal range of the lens is wide, or the lens is buckled down, then the main body of the slide is likely to be broken. And the wider the focal length of the lens, the easier it is to break through, and the longer the travel, the easier it is to break through.
If you use the wand to shoot, there will be no such concern, because MOZA is installed on the top of the camera, when shooting the zoom out picture, the lens is outward, any part of the wand will not appear in the picture, so there is no possibility of breaking through. In this way, no matter how long the journey is, no matter how wide the lens is used, the wand is always behind the camera, so it is impossible to get through. Therefore, when using the wand as an auxiliary device to shoot through holes, windows, or gaps, the use of the wand will be more handy, convenient and fast.
MOZA Slypod is a creative device. The only inconvenience is that its telescopic control button is at the bottom. When it is used as a monopod for individual combat, it needs to bend down to adjust the height, which is not very convenient.
