Insta360 is mainly known for its action cameras, some of which are featured in our reviews. Their most popular product is the One X, widely considered the best camera at the consumer level. But if their recently released video teaser is anything to go by, then the company is seemingly entering a new product category. We haven’t been able to identify the product as a whole, but it's clear from the video that the company is introducing a new Insta360 smartphone gimbal. The release is set for 29 march 2023, 9.000 am. 

If that comes to pass, then it means the startup will be giving renowned gimbal manufacturers like Zhiyun and DJI a run for their money. DJI is currently the best drone manufacturer in the market while Zhiyun is regarded as a gimbal specialist. Gimbals are a common tool among content creators who use them for stability, especially for handled shootings. 

Not much has been revealed yet, but we can conclude from the 20 seconds video that the new gimbal will feature some four shooting modes, folding mechanisms, and a magnetic mounting base. The four shooting modes have each been represented by an acronym, though what they represent hasn't been revealed. But what we know is that ‘F’ will represent Follow, PF will represent Pan Follow and FPV will represent First-Person View ( at least according to our interpretation). In the meantime, we can't wait for Insta360 to give us what they got.
